Joe Burke of Musa Dive Expeditions and Diving For A Cause (DFAC) in Northern New Zealand

This February, Dr.Terry Maas along with local guide Joe Burke will lead a team of divers on a 4 day diving trip to the famous dive sites off Bay of Plenty in Northern New Zealand. Species of fish that are sought after are the Yellowtail Kingfish, Snapper, John Dory, Trevally and Pink Mao Mao. Also if you are lucky you might come across a pod of Pilot Whales!

Dr. Terry Maas and Ray Powell of DiveR fins will be leading the team of DFAC participants.

While the divers spend 4 days spearfishing, their catch will be harvested and donated to the local Maori tribe. In addition, each team will be spending group community service days with the Maori in various projects.

Participants will have 3 days to explore and sightsee Northern New Zealand at their own pace. Housing will be available for the entire 10 days for the DFAC team. We will dive on the best 4 days for spearfishing and then have time to sightsee and give back to the local community.
