DFAC has been invited to join our good friend Dano Krahling of MAKO Spearguns in LaPaz next May 2020. Explore Espiritu Santo island, El Bajo and other structures for Amberjack, Yellowtail, possible Wahoo, Tuna and various pelagic and reef fish. There will be most likely a trip to the pacific side for various pelagic fish on one of our dive days. Our guide Patrick Papp of Baja Adventure Co is very familiar with this area for spearfishing.
As the divers spend 4 days of spearfishing, 70% of their catch that is harvested is donated to the local orphanage in LaPaz. The balance of the harvested fish is used to supplement dinners for the team and then participants are also encouraged to take the remaining fish back to share with their own families and friends.
Diving For A Cause is welcomed with many opportunities of giving back to the local community. This recipe of spearfishing and giving back has been successful with DFAC and we have no doubt that it will be here as well.
